Knowledge for better food systems

Livestock, feed and food security

Friday, January 1, 2010

This briefing paper explores some of the arguments surrounding the relationship between what we feed and how we rear farm animals, and the availability and accessibility of food for human consumption. For a more recent discussion of livestock feed-related issues see the FCRN publication Lean, green, mean, obscene…?  What is efficiency and is it sustainable?
