The research of the FCRN is based on literature reviews, discussions with key stakeholders and on the output of seminars we have organised to inform the research process. Our research has so far focused on the following key areas:
These areas of research have been chosen for a variety of reasons – because there has been little research to date on the topic (eg. Alcoholic drinks), because they have been considered as key areas of concern in the past (eg. Fruit and vegetables) or because they are now emerging as major areas of concern (Food refrigeration; Meat dairy and livestock products).
The synthesis document Cooking up a storm, sets out the overall contribution that the food chain makes to UK GHG emissions, brings together the findings of the four earlier papers, explores the consumer and policy context for food / GHG reduction and makes policy and research recommendations.
The seminars inform the development of the FCRN working papers which can be viewed here.
Presentations given by FCRN researchers at events, conferences and seminars are archived here.
